Serial number, make, model and type are recorded against your lot.
Retired laptops, desktops, servers, phones, network and test equipment are tested, wiped and resold. You receive a credit for what sells and a serial-level report that shows what happened to every unit. The rest is recycled.
A three-year-old laptop, a decommissioned switch or a rack of servers usually still has a buyer. Our asset management team tests each unit, wipes it with certified software, grades it and sells it. You get a credit for what sells.
Equipment with no resale value is recycled through our Orillia facility, and anything that fails the wipe is shredded. Either way the serial number is accounted for.

Then that is what happens. Say so at the start and the lot is handled as data destruction instead.
